NARUC Summer Policy Summit in Indianapolis

   The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) will hold its Summer Policy Summit in Indianapolis, from July 21-24.  State Commissioners and staff members from around the country will meet in various committees and subcommittees with an eye toward developing NARUC policy on several important issues of interest to the regulatory community.

Policies developed at the summer meetings may be acted upon at the NARUC annual meeting in San Antonio in November.

NCSL Annual Meeting in Nashville

Monday, August 5, marks the beginning of the Annual Meeting of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) in Nashville.  The NCSL’s mission is to “improve state legislatures, foster communication among states and ensure a strong, cohesive voice in the federal system.”  Several Illinois legislators are members of key NCSL committees.  The NCSL serves the legislators and staffs of the nation’s 50 states, its commonwealths and territories.  It is funded by the states and governed by a 56-member executive committee.  For more information go to www.ncsl.org/summit.

Philadelphia Hosts EEI Convention/Expo

This year’s Annual Convention/Expo of the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) will be held at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown in Philadelphia from June 9-11.

More than 1,200 top decision-makers of domestic and international firms from energy-related fields will be on hand to discuss critical industry issues.  In addition, attendees will be able to attend the Expo 2019 Exhibit Hall featuring new products and services.

MARC 2019 to Be Held In Des Moines

The annual meeting of the MidAmerican Regulatory Conference (MARC) will be held in Des Moines from August 11-14, 2019.  The Illinois Commerce Commission is a member of MARC along with public utility commissions from several Midwestern states.

Taxpayers’ Federation Hosts Legislative Conference

The Taxpayers’ Federation of Illinois will host its 2019 Spring Legislative Conference on April 3-4 in Springfield.

The conference will begin with a Legislative Reception and Dinner at the Inn at 835 on Wednesday evening, the 3rd.  On Thursday, the 4th, a session on legislation will be held beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Sangamo Club.

NARUC Winter Committee Meetings in Washington, DC

   The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) will hold its Winter Committee Meetings in Washington, DC, from February 10-13, 2019.  State Commissioners and staff members from around the country will meet in various committees and subcommittees with an eye toward developing NARUC policy on several important issues of interest to the regulatory community.

Members of the Illinois Commerce Commission serve on key NARUC policy committees. Policies developed at the Winter Meetings may be acted upon at the organization’s Summer Meetings in Indianapolis.  

Current Issues Seminar In New Mexico April 7-10

 

   The annual Current Issues Seminar hosted by the Center for Public Utilities at New Mexico State University will be held in the state capitol of Sante Fe on April 7-10, 2019. Among this year’s participants are some of the nation’s leading experts on energy policy issues.

Members of the Illinois Commerce Commission serve on key NARUC policy committees.  An Illinois Night Reception will be held on Tuesday, November 13.

Taxpayers’ Federation Presents Annual Tax Conference
