After months of stalemate, weeks of working group meetings and last-ditch marathon negotiations by legislative leaders and the Governor, the Illinois General Assembly passed and Governor Bruce Rauner signed a stopgap budget that will carry the state past the November elections and set up post-election legislative sessions full of intense debate and tough votes to finally achieve a comprehensive FY 2017 budget.
