On July 1, the Illinois Commerce Commission’s Office of Retail Market Development (ORMD) released its 12th annual report to the General Assembly and the Governor. The report describes in detail the competitive retail market in Illinois and is required under Section 20-110 of the “Retail Electric Competition Act of 2006.”

The report aims to provide an overview of the current state of the market, including alternative retail electric suppliers’ (ARES) activity and customer switching trends.
